Bio
Superstar DJ Paul Heron had already made a
huge impact on the London and international dj scene. Originally from
Scotland, Paul moved to London & soon became hooked on the London
clubbing scene and the new sounds he was hearing. Eager to get involved,
his first job came as video jock, and his good taste and technique
shone through and the owners of the bar encouraged him to start dj’ing.
His first professional dj job was with legendSteve Thomas at the world
wide infamous club ,Trade – in the funky lounge. From there,
things took off at a rapid rate and he is probably now the capital’s
busiest DJ’s with residencies at Crash, AREA, ULTRA, Matinee
(in London), DTPM, Discotec @ The End, and Wild Fruit in Brighton.
In 2003, his international career took off with gigs in Paris (culminating
in a regular bi-monthly residency at Queen), Amsterdam, Sicily, Frankfurt
and South Africa. At the end of February he wowed them at New York’s
Avalon (formerly Limelight) club supporting Boy George, and was been
booked for encore perfomances - this time taking in Boston as well
as NYC.
The press also discovered Paul in 2003, featuring him in many articles
in Time Out, QX International (front cover) and Attitude.
2005 saw a residency at Amsterdam’s CO2 parties and he headlined
the famous White Party there. His recent international trips have
also taken him to Prague and Italy and in 2005 debuted at Paris’s
famous Redlight club. This has led to a regular residency at Paris’s
fabulous Mix club.
Paul describes his sound as dirty funked up house, touching on deeper
disco to tougher tribal grooves. In May, he recorded the latest compilation
cd for Crash – released to rave reviews and which saw the highest
ever sales of any Crash compilation. 2005 also saw Paul venture into
the studio and within a couple of months was commissioned by Hed Kandi
for a re-mix of Stonebridge’s major hit under the guise as “Rhythm
Doctors”.
In 2006 Paul headlined the Hero Party – the biggest dance party
in Auckland, and then following played to a packed dancefloor and
rapturous applause at Sydney’s fantastic ARQ club during Mardi
Gras. This was followed by an encore performance again in June with
a packed schedule of European gigs keeping him busy since his return.
November saw Paul spread his wings to Canada to headline at Toronto’s
“FLY”. Once again this led to an immediate- booking for
which he returned in Feb 2007. Straight after he once again headed
out to headline Auckland’s HERO event and Sydney’s ARQ.
Aside from Crash he has now commenced a residency at London’s
coolest new club – AREA and also recently began his weekly residency
at DTPM. Paul’s style can be described
as Funky/Progressive/Electro House
Wherever Paul plays he packs the dancefloor
– and generates a unique energy guaranteed to keep the floor
packed from start to finish!
